Lucy Mangan, Bookworm, a memoir of childhood reading

Lucy Mangan’s Bookworm is a delightful trip back through the wardrobe and deep into the armchair, with the books that built her. Or actually might crush her – she has 10,000 volumes in her South London home. It is also a memoir of growing up in South-East London in the 1970s and 1980s, of Lewisham’s Torridon Road Library and trips clutching tokens to WH Smiths. Finally, it offers an insightful history of children’s publishing. We are delighted to host this event with Lucy, who will be in conversation with Katherine Woodfine, children’s author and host of the acclaimed children’s books radio programme and podcast, Down The Rabbit Hole.

This session will be followed by a book signing.
