Philip Ardagh & Elissa Elwick: Stick and Fetch Investigate

Author-illustrator duo Philip Ardagh and Elissa Elwick, creators of the charming Little Adventurers books, have collaborated once again to bring us the tales of Sally Stick and her dog Fetch, hapless detectives who leave a trail of mayhem behind them.  Towering Philip and petite Elissa bring their tag-team stage act of storytelling, hand puppets, live drawing and general silliness to Greenwich Book Festival for the first time – you’d be barking mad to miss it!!

Sally Stick loves nothing more than investigating a good mystery – and her shaggy canine companion Fetch loves nothing more than to be at her side when she does. There’s just one small problem: they always gets the wrong end of the stick! The hapless pair remain undeterred, however, dashing from one crime scene to another on their bicycle, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake … yet always emerging blissfully unaware. A fun, madcap trio of stories featuring two loveable heroes with a LOT of hair.

Roald-Dahl-Funny-Prize-winning author Philip Ardagh’s books have been translated into around 40 languages. He collaborated with Sir Paul McCartney on the ex-Beatle’s only children’s book to date, has a big, bushy beard, reviews for The Guardian and also writes for radio. Philip can be found on twitter and instagram as @philipardagh and at www.thephilipardaghblog.tumblr.com

Illustrator and writer, Elissa Elwick is a regular at book festivals at home and abroad, her characterful illustrations having won her many fans. She runs workshops, is quick on the draw at draw-offs, and has been described once or twice as being as like one of her own drawings come to life…she’s still deciding if that’s a compliment or not!
