Hoop Picks for Greenwich Book Festival

Greenwich Book Festival is one of our highlights of the year for family events and 2018 is no exception. Packed with special family events, their commitment to entertaining and inspiring our kids makes it a highlight in the Hoop calendar!  

 

Come and craft with OKIDO

We love OKIDO – the cult arts & science ‘zine for kids – and we’re super excited for this music-themed workshop. Children will make three musical instruments, and then everyone will play a tune together! Always a hit at GBF!

When:  Saturday 16th June, 16:00 to 17:00

Paddington Storytelling with Vanessa Woolf

Celebrate 60 years of family favourite Paddington Bear! Children & their grown-ups will enjoy an interactive storytelling session based on ‘A Bear Called Paddington’. Plus, you can make a day of it with free drop-in Paddington crafts running for 11:30 – 16:00.

 When:  Saturday 16th June, 11:30 to 12:00

Make a Rainbow with Ged Adamson

Create your own colourful rainbow with Ged Adamson, author of ‘Ava and the Rainbow (Who Stayed)’. You also get a chance to hear the tale of Ava, and her rainbow. Ged is also the illustrator in residence for GBF, so look out for him wandering around the festival!

When:  Saturday 16th June, 16:00 to 17:00

Best for: Ages 4 – 8

 

Malcolm and the Storydrivers

Don’t miss this one! Join a very special campervan (Malcolm) for an interactive storytelling adventure. Children will be invited to play games, think creatively and solve puzzles as part of an exciting narrative set in and around a camper van using Lego bricks.

When:  Saturday 16th June, 11:30 to 12:20

Best for: Ages 5 – 12

 

Make a Unicorn with Fabi Santiago

Perfect for any unicorn fans! ‘I Really Want That Unicorn’ is one of our current fave stories at Hoop, and we’re excited hear it a story session with author Fabi Santiago. After the reading,  children can take part in unicorn making, colouring and mazes.

When:  Saturday 16th June, 16:00 to 17:00

Best for: Ages 3 – 7
