Creative Workshop: A Pinch of Magic with Michelle Harrison
Be held spellbound as Michelle Harrison shares the ideas that inspired the bestselling A Pinch of Magic and reveals some of the ways that she approaches writing. In this interactive writing workshop, Michelle will teach children how to create something magical from the ordinary as they develop their own magical objects just like the Russian nesting dolls, mermaid mirror and magical carpet bag from A Pinch of Magic. Children will also get the opportunity to create a gripping opening to a story.
Chosen as a Waterstones Book of the Month, “A Pinch of Magic” has been described as a “Total masterclass in middle-grade fantasy adventure” and also as “simply phenomenal.” Michelle Harrison’s first novel, “The Thirteen Treasures” won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and was published in 16 countries.
All attendees, adults and children, must have a valid ticket. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a fee paying adult. The event is being held in Room KW002 of King William Court (University of Greenwich), Old Royal Naval College.
